SR 499 million deal for industrial city


The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has signed a contract worth SR 499 million with a national company to develop the second phase of the industrial city in Kharj, south of Riyadh, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The deal, signed by the Minister of Commerce and Industry and head of Saudi Industrial Property Authority (MODON) Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, aims to expand the industrial area with a series of infrastructure projects in an area of 5 million square meters.

The contract, to be implemented in 30 months, will also support the ongoing phase of the project being carried out over an area of 7.5 million square meters. The scope of work includes construction of water, sewage, floods disposal and telecom networks, the SPA said.
