Arab finance elite to review UAE’s economic initiatives


Finance ministers from Arab world are assembling in Dubai today to discuss a number of issues, including global economic and financial challenges, as well the review of measures to boost intra-Arab trade and investments.

The ministers, who are gathering to attend the annual meetings of the five Arab development finance institutions, will also meet on the sidelines for the fourth regular session of the Council of Ministers.

“Among other things they would review the latest developments on the UAE’s initiative to enhance economic stability in the Arab region, which it presented in September 2011 in Abu Dhabi,” said Shaikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance and Industry, while speaking to reporters.
