SR 1.49 bn set for Makkah road works

Makkah Municipality has signed four contracts worth SR 1.49 billion for the construction of intersections with various highways crossing the new Ring Road IV.

Makkah Mayor Osama Al-Barr said the municipality aims to develop an advanced network of modern roads to link various places and districts in the city.

When completed, the Ring Road IV will be a major addition to the transport infrastructure in the holy city.

It will resolve bottlenecks and traffic jams that plague the city during the peak Haj and Umrah seasons, the mayor said.

The contracts have been signed with specialized companies experienced in such works.
