Dh940 million road project completed

After more than four years and Dh940 million, a major road project has been fully completed after the opening of an interchange linking key roads in Dubai.

The opening of the flyover linking Hessa Road, Al Khail Road, and Al Barsha with Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road completes the RTA’s second phase of the widening of Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road project, the first phase of which began in 2006.

The Roads and Transport Authority executive director Mattar Al Tayer said the project had been completed within the given time frame.

“By opening the flyover, the RTA has completed the construction of all works in this vital project,” he said in an RTA press release.

The entire project, which stretches from the Arabian Ranches Interchange up to the outskirts of Abu Dhabi, has been undertaken as part of the RTA’s master plan for upgrading roads, bridges, crossings and tunnels to improve transit movement and mobility throughout Dubai.
