Ooredoo launch in Qatar by mid-March

Qtel is expected to appear with its new brand name in Qatar by mid-March.

“Qtel will become Ooredoo from mid-March in Qatar, as announced in Barcelona this week,” Qtel said in a statement issued to this daily yesterday.

Following the re-branding of Qatar telecommunication company earlier this week, Dr Nasser Marafih, Ooredoo Group CEO, said that Ooredoo is expected to launch its new brand by March 11 in Qatar, a local Arabic daily reported yesterday.

Speaking at a press conference at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Marafih said that the new brand name is more than a just logo or slogan.
