KUWAIT: Kuwaiti has emerged as a key market for Abu Dhabi, with visitors from this country topping the list in 2012, a tourism authority official said.

Addressing a press conference at Le Notre Restaurant in Kuwait City, Mubarak Hamad Al-Shamisi, Promotion Manager, noted that the number of Kuwaiti visitors has been growing steadily every year. “Last year, we received about 18,000 Kuwaiti visitors, a 12% rise from 2011.

The Kuwaiti hotel guests accounted for 44,763 room nights and notched up an averagelength- of-stay of 2.5 nights. Throughout last year, Abu Dhabi saw its GCC hotel guest numbers swell 20 percent over the same period in 2011. Kuwait is really an important market for us and will continue to be in the years ahead,” he added.
