Dewa inks power cable contract


Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has inked a Dh19.5 million ($5.3 milion) contract for a new 132 kV power cable network for the Gardens and Dubai Investment Park area as part of its strategic plan to further boost its electricity infrastructure.

The major project aims at enhancing capacity and efficiency to highest international standards and is expected to be completed in February next year, said top official.

“Led by our vision to become a sustainable world-class utility, Dewa contributes effectively to the social, economic and environmental development of the emirate, by providing uninterrupted and stable electricity and water services to achieve the vision of Dubai,” remarked its managing director and CEO Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer.
