Qatar keen to sign $122m guided missiles deal

Qatar is keen to sign a deal with the United States for guided missiles and associated equipment worth $122m.

According to the US Defence Security Cooperation Agency, it has notified Congress of the possible foreign military sale to the Government of Qatar.

It added that Qatar has requested a possible sale of 500 Javelin guided missiles, 50 command launch units alongside associated equipment and support services.

"The proposed sale will improve Qatar’s capability to meet current and future threats and provide greater security for its critical oil and natural gas infrastructure," the Agency said.
