‘Need more experts in communication sector’

DOHA: Demand for communication specialists has increased within the growing media sector in Qatar, says an expert.

As many sectors in Qatar have started new institutions during the past years, the need for communication specialists is higher than before, said Dr Everette E Dennis (pictured), Dean and CEO of Northwestern University Qatar.

New institutions are coming up, for example, the cultural sector like museums need communication specialists, he told The Peninsula. 
.
To meet these needs, the Northwestern University in Qatar has introduced some minors and would bring in some other new subjects in the near future.  
.
“To do a better job we assess the media in this region and other kind of issues that will help our students calibrate their work to the needs of the region.
.
“We keep adding new courses, expand courses in Middle Eastern studies and Middle Eastern media and we have strengthened our film offering,” he added.
