Dubai-Brazil trade volume at Dh6 billion

Ahmed Butti Ahmed, executive chairman of Ports, Customs and Free Zone and director-general of Dubai Customs, had discussions with a Brazilian trade delegation regarding boosting cooperation ties between Dubai and Brazil.

Overall trade between Dubai and Brazil amounted to Dh6 billion between January to October 2012, representing 37 per cent of Dubai trade with Latin American countries.

The delegation, accompanied by Brazilian Ambassador to the UAE Jose de Mendonca Lima Neto, included Wilson Dockorn Junior, head of the Trade Promotion Office in Dubai; Sidney Alves Costa, general manager of the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, or Apex-Brazil Middle East; Karen Fernandes Jones, intelligence economist at Apex-Brazil Middle East; and a number of company representatives and officials from various economic and trade specialities.
